Candle information
Here I have put together a bit of information about soy candles. I hope that you find this information useful for your understanding of Soy candles.
What are Soy Candles? Soy candles are made from soy wax. This wax is made from hydrogenated soybean oil. In 1992 Michael Richards decided to look for a cheaper alternative to bees wax. As his candle business grew, he noticed there was a high demand for natural waxes.
Why Soy? Soy wax is made from a renewable resource and a cheaper alternative to paraffin wax.. Soy is environmentally friendly. When these candles are burnt, there is not an increase in the c02 levels in the air. Making the air around them safer. Unlike paraffin candles soy candles do not contain petroleum. Soy candles can last up to 50% longer than your traditional candles.
OPPS! Got a spill? Not a problem. Soy wax cleans up very easily with hot soapy water. Paraffin wax can harden on material or surfaces and be impossible to remove.
YUCK!! Hate that black soot at the top of your candle containers or the black smoke rising while your candle is burning? Who doesn't? Soy candles produce 90% less soot. Less Mess, Less Fuss, Happier burning!
Ahhh That Smell. Because of the low melting point soy wax has, this makes it a cooler burning candle. This creates "pool" around the center of the wick. When the wax melts and "pools" the fragrance oils are released into the air. Therefore producing the smell you have been waiting on.
Tips
- Never burn too many candles in one room. Although they produce less co2 make sure you have proper ventilation before burning ANY Candle
- Be sure to trim the wick to 1/4" before burning
- Keep away from flammable material, kids and pets. NEVER LEAVE A CANDLE UNATTENDED. BURN SAFELY!
- To keep the candles true color, keep away from direct sunlight.
- After burning, let your wax cool and harden before relighting.
- To extinguish, dip your wick into the wax pool and then pull it back up.
